Police formally name toddler who drowned in Perthshire river
Jacob McIntyre was just two-years-old
A two-year-old boy whose body was pulled out of a river in rural Perthshire at the weekend has been formally named by police.
Little Jacob McIntyre was reported missing in Milton of Drimmie on Sunday morning - and just over an hour later his body was found in the River Ericht.
It's said to have been flowing faster than normal because of melting snow.
Police have described the toddler's loss as "tragic".
Detective Chief Inspector Iain Wales said: "This is a very tragic incident which resulted in a young boy sadly losing his life.
"The events will undoubtedly bring shock and sadness to this small community and further afield.
"We would like to thank our Scottish Fire and Rescue Service colleagues for their courage and assistance in Sunday's difficult conditions.
"Our thoughts and deepest condolences are with Jacob's family at this difficult time."
