Police Confirm Human Remains Find As Missing US Tourist
Human remains found in woods have been identified as a missing American tourist.
Susan McLean, 61, who was on a two-week tour of Scotland with her family, was reported missing from her holiday lodge in Aberfeldy, Perth and Kinross, on May 17.
Extensive searches were carried out in the surrounding area following her disappearance.
Human remains were found in dense undergrowth near the town on Saturday during searches carried out by volunteers.
A police statement said: "Police Scotland can confirm that human remains recovered from woodland in Aberfeldy on Saturday August 15 have been formally identified as 61-year-old Susan McLean from Pennsylvania, USA.
"There are no suspicious circumstances and a report has been submitted to the procurator fiscal."
