Police appeal for information on attempted robbery in Dundee

Two men tried to rob a Sainsbury's petrol station on Saturday evening.

They used weapons to threaten staff and demand money around 11.38pm at the services on Tom Johnston Road.

The criminals fled empty-handed after staff raised the alarm towards Baldove Road across the car park of the main Sainsburys store where they met up with a male on a mountain bike before being lost to sight.

The first male responsible for the crime is described as a white male, 5’3 in height, medium build wearing a black North Face jacket , black tracksuit bottoms and he was wearing a mask.

The second male is described as a white male, 5’0 in height, skinny build wearing a black North Face jacket , grey jogging bottoms and was also wearing a mask.

The male on the mountain bike was wearing a navy blue zip up jacket with a fur lined hood and grey tracksuit bottoms

Detectives investigating this crime would like anybody who may have been in the area and observed the above males before or after the crime or may have any information relating to this crime to contact the police on telephone number 101 quoting crime number 30229/17.
