Police appeal after deliberate Forfar fire
Officers say the blaze at a derelict building yesterday was purposeful
Police in Forfar are appealing for witnesses after a derelict building was set on fire on Thursday evening.
Scottish Fire and Rescue Service were called to the blaze at the Gables on Arbroath Road at around 5pm on February 27.
No one was injured and it has since been extinguished, but police say the fire was started deliberately.
Constable Craig Savage said: “Fortunately no one was injured but extensive damage was caused by the fire.
"We are keen to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time and may have seen something suspicious.
“If anyone has dash-cam footage from around the time, please review it to see if you have captured anything which could help our investigation."
Anyone who can assist is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 2623 of Thursday February 27 2025, or make a call anonymously to the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
