A Perth schoolgirl's walking several miles to raise money for a mental health charity, a year on from her dad's death.

8-year-old Summer Gray is getting her steps in, and then some, for six days straight. She set off yesterday, with all money raised going to Andy's Man Club.

"I was just looking for something to during lockdown. I'm doing a six day walk in memory of my dad," she said.

Summer was out for over three hours yesterday, clocking up more than seven miles.

Her mum Tanya Ritchie said: "She's went pretty viral so it's quite cute. She said doing this walk will stop her being upset on the runup to her Dad's anniversary, it will give her something to focus on.

"She said she wants to walk eight miles a day, but I said no because I've got to walk with her!"

The schoolgirl has already surpassed her target of raising £150. You can see her online page here: https://uk.gofundme.com/f/summers-fundraiser-in-memory-of-her-daddy
