Perth man opens up on loss off mum to rare cancer six days after passing
Sam Latronico is urging as many as people as possible to turn out for her funeral next week to raise money for charity
A Perth man is opening up on the loss of his mum to a rare cancer six days after she passed.
Sam Latronico's mum Matilda lost her battle to ovarian cancer last weekend.
He's now urging as many as people as possible to turn out for her funeral next week to raise money for charity Target Ovarian Cancer.
"We want anyone throughout Scotland, the rest of the UK, even the world to attend. Anyone who wishes to come to celebrate my amazing mum's life," he said.
"She was just the most unique, amazing mother and woman ever.
"I'm still cuddling my mum's dressing gown every night when I go to bed, and smelling her.
"It is really hard to process but I need to stay strong."
The 27-year-old posted an emotional video last year of him shaving his mum's head.
He says his family are devastated by the loss of his mum.
"I'm not really grieving right now, my family's broken," he added.
"Even though I've cared for my mum for the last year and been there everyday, I've just weirdly found this inner strength and by-passed the grieving stage right now."
The funeral will be held at 10.30am at Perth Crematorium next Tuesday.
