A drag queen from Perth's looking to break down barriers between parts of the LGBT+ community and football.

Scarlet Skylar Rae's produced a cup final song in support of St Johnstone, as they take on Livingston at Hampden this afternoon.

The 25-year-old says many other performers are avid fans.

"More specifically for drag queens, I think everyone can remember Bimini walking down the drag race runway in her Norwich City top," said Scarlet.

"So drag queen football fans do exist out there. In a way, I do think drag and football are quite similar as it's all about supporting your local community.

"If St Johnstone ever want to sign a drag queen I'm always available!"

Scarlet Skylar Rae has represented Perthshire Pride as far away as Australia. Social media manager Adam Bainbridge believes the region has become far more open to people of LGBT+ background.

"Perth is quite a traditional city but it is something that is changing now. Particularly with the council's movement to enable more events and not allow as many challenges I think it really helps us grow," he said.

"At the age of 26 I can safely say when I was 18, it came to a google search and I found the LGBT glow group.

"I wasn't fully establish in who I was and what direction I was going in. To be able to go to a group and explore that and have an open discussion with people who are non judgemental was a revelation.

"Particularly in Perth I never thought that was possible."
