Aviva's office in Perth has been targeted by pro-Palestine activists.

A video shared by the group Palestine Action, on social media, show windows at the office being smashed and sprayed with red paint.

Activists also targeted the firm's office in Motherwell.

An Aviva spokesperson said: “We have had some disruption overnight at our Perth and Motherwell offices. Our first priority is to ensure the safety of our people.

"This has not impacted our service to customers.”

The group says it targeted the offices due to the insurers alleged links to an Israeli weapons firm.

Posting on social media, Palestine Action said: "Overnight, actionists targeted two premises belonging to the insurance firm in Scotland.

"Aviva must stop providing insurance for Israel's biggest weapons producer."

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 1.30am on Friday, 28 February, we received a report of damage to a premises in the Necessity Brae area of Perth.

“Enquiries are ongoing.”
