Patients and staff evacuated after fire at Angus hospital

Fire crews have been tackling a blaze at Stracathro Hosptial, which broke out on Monday morning.

Emergency services were called to the scene at around 11.30am on October 29, with staff and patients evacuated.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service says no-one was hurt.

A spokeswoman for the fire service said: “The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service was alerted at 11.31am on Monday, October 29 to reports of a fire at Stracathro Hospital in Angus.

“Operations Control mobilised a number of fire engines to the scene where firefighters are currently tackling a fire confined in the roof space of a single storey building.

“There are no casualties.

“Crews will remain on scene until the area is made safe."
