Pair to stand trial accused of murdering man in Alyth

Two suspects are to stand trial charged with the murder of a man in a Perthshire town.
Murray Fotheringham (35) and Lee Winters (36) are accused of killing John Donnachy at a flat in Alyth in March this year.
The 26 year-old is said to have been punched and struck with a baseball bat or rod, a knife or similar item.
The pair also face a charge of attempting to defeat the ends of justice.
They are further accused of assaulting a man the day previous in Alyth.
This includes a claim they brandished a shovel at him.
Fortheringham alone finally faces another assault aleegation and a drugs charge.
Their lawyers today/yesterday pled not guilty on their behalf during a short hearing at the High Court in Glasgow.
Judge Lady Rae fixed a trial due to start in Livingston in December.
The case could last up to 10 days.
