Bosses at the Overgate say they should have a replacement lined up for the vacant Debenhams unit within the next three months.

The Dundee centre's flagship store closed last year after the company fell into liquidation.Bosses at Dundee's Overgate are confident the centre can live on without Debenhams.

It opened for the first time this year yesterday - after it's prized asset fell into liquidation in December.

Speaking to Tay News, General Manager Malcolm Angus says discussions with potential replacements are ongoing:

"I'd like to think within the next three months, if the deal goes through the way we want it go through, then potentially within the next three months we'll be able to release more information."

"Obviously the west end of the scheme is a little bit quieter with the Debenhams shutters being closed and the lights being off."

"We do have interest in the unit -- I can't obviously divulge at this time what it is."
