One Rescued From Forfar Flat Blaze
Firefighters rescued one person from a flat fire in the Goosecroft area of Forfar on Friday morning.
The call was received by operations control at 11.04am and two appliances from Forfar and one from Kingsway East in Dundee attended the scene.
Crews were faced with a fire within a second floor flat in the three-storey tenement building.
Firefighters in breathing apparatus carried out a search of the property and rescued one person from the property. They used a hose reel jet to extinguish the fire. Their search confirmed there were no further occupants within the flat.
The fire was extinguished by 11.32am. The casualty was placed in the care of paramedics at the scene.
Crews then ventilated adjoining flats and carried out a damping down operation, checking for any remaining hot spots.
Angus Council was alerted as the flats were council property and Police Scotland were also at the scene.
A joint investigation will be carried out in due course between SFRS and Police Scotland to establish the cause.
