One dead after suspicious Perth fire

Police are investigating a fire in Perth – that’s left one person dead.

Emergency services were called to a substantial blaze in St Catherine's Square just before 10.00pm last night.

A block of flats there was evacuated - with paramedics treating one person at the scene.

But they couldn't be saved.

Officers say they're treating the fire as "suspicious" and enquiries are continuing this morning into what happened.
