Oor Wullie Women of the World arrived at Dundee House earlier greeted by Lord Provost, Bob Duncan.

The statue, part of the Oor Wullie Bucket trail which ran throughout the summer, was purchased by Dundee City Council during the live auction in September for £8,000- with all proceeds going to the Archie Foundation.

He was created by Dundee International Women's Centre; who's members have migrated to the city from over 80 countries.

Laura Darling designed Woman of the World Wullie.

She said: "I saw the opportunity for the Oor Wullie Bucket Trail and thought it would be a brilliant opportunity for the centre so I submitted the design that I did in collaboration with our art class.

"I really wanted to represent the cultural diversity of Dundee through patterns, colours and ideas that the ladies brought to the project."

She added: "To find out that he was going to be in the city centre where everyone can come and see him is just brilliant."

Lord Provost, Bob Duncan says it’s fantastic to have him at Dundee House.

He said: "He's part of the city centre now and it's just a wonderful place to have him.

"He is so accessible for people to pop in and see and if they're here on business, they can come here, visit and have their picture taken."
