Murder inquiry following death of man in Dundee

A murder inquiry has been launched after the death of a man in Dundee.

Police were called to the scene in Lawton Terrace at 2.25am on Tuesday after concerns were raised for the 44-year-old.

The man, who has not yet been named, was pronounced dead at the scene.

An investigation to establish the full circumstances surrounding his death is ongoing.

The man's next of kin have been made aware, but formal identification is still to be carried out.

Detective Inspector Ged Fitzpatrick of the major investigation team said: A major police investigation has been launched and I would like to reassure the community that all efforts are under way to trace the person responsible.

We would appeal to anyone who may have been in the area at or around this time to contact police.

There will be a visible police presence in the area whilst we continue with inquiries into the incident.''
