Mother Of Boy Killed In A90 Crash Mourns Her 'Best Friend'
The mother of a nine-year-old boy knocked down and killed on the A90 has described him as her 'best friend'.
Kairon McKay was hit by a blue Ford C Max near Longforgan, Perth and Kinross, at about 9.20pm on Friday.
His mother Laura has released a statement through Police Scotland that read: 'Kairon was a loving wee boy and he was my best friend. At this time, I would very much appreciate if I could be left to grieve in peace.'
Police said no other cars were involved and the road was closed while officers investigated the scene of the collision.
Officers have also renewed their appeal for anyone who witnessed the collision to contact them on 101.
A force spokesman said: 'Police Scotland can confirm that a nine-year-old boy has sadly died following a collision on the A90 at Longforgan.
The collision happened at around 9.20pm on Friday and involved a blue Ford C Max and the boy, who was a pedestrian. No other vehicles were involved and no one else has been injured.'
