Legal support offered to workers who lost jobs at Perthshire firm
Last updated 30th Oct 2019
Workers who have been made redundant by a Perthshire ventilation firm will be given legal advice.
81 jobs have gone at MJ Ventilation in the last week, with the company saying this is a result of ‘bad debts.’
Their base is in Coupar Angus but they also have sites in Edinburgh and Aberdeen.
Staff will now be given the option to attend a meeting with Unite the Union in Dundee on Thursday 31st October.
The union says workers may be entitled to claim for a failure by MJ Ventilation to carry out collective redundancy consultation.
George Ramsay, Unite regional industrial officer, said: “Unite is holding a drop-in session at our office in Dundee as part of our efforts to provide as much support for all workers affected by the substantial job losses at MJ Ventilation across Scotland.
“We would encourage workers to attend our session in Dundee so that we can provide as much advice and support as possible.”
