Missing Tourist's Husband Makes Heartfelt Appeal
The husband of an American tourist who went missing on holiday in Scotland has made a heartfelt plea for information on her whereabouts.
Susan McLean, 61, who was taking part in a two-week tour of Scotland with her family, was reported missing from her holiday lodge in Aberfeldy, Perthshire, on Sunday evening.
She was last seen on CCTV outside the grounds of the Moness Resort in the town's Crieff Road at around 7.45pm that day.
Police have carried out a number of searches of the area, with help from the police helicopter, Tayside Mountain Rescue, search dogs and police dive teams, but no trace of the missing woman has so far been found.
Mrs McLean's husband Donald McLean said: This has been a very difficult time for our family. Susan is a loving wife and mother to our sons James and Donald and we miss her terribly.
Everyone in Aberfeldy has been very supportive and I want to thank all the people who have spoken to the police and given their time to help in our search for Susan.
We just want her to be here with us, if anyone knows anything that might help to bring her back to our family, please let the police know so that we can bring her home. ''
Police Scotland said the teams will continue to carry out searches in the area over the weekend, including the road out of Aberfeldy on the A826, in the wake of potential sightings of Mrs McLean in the area on Sunday evening.
A number of local officers also intend to revisit Aberfeldy between 7pm and 9pm on Sunday, on the one-week anniversary of her disappearance, in a bid to trace further witnesses.
Officers are asking people to check their sheds, garages and outbuildings for any signs that she may have been there.
When last seen, the holidaymaker, from Pennsylvania, was wearing a black and grey waterproof jacket, beige khaki trousers and white trainers.
She is 5ft 8in, of medium build, with short fair hair, green eyes and an American accent.
Anyone who may have seen her or who remembers someone with an American accent matching the description is urged to contact police on 101.
