Milestone for V&A Dundee

The floor the galleries will be on is now complete.

At ground floor V&A Dundee is two separate buildings, which connect on the second floor. At the heart of this impressive space sits the Michelin Design Gallery- which will showcase the museum's learning and innovation programme.

Following the generous support of the Michelin Corporate Foundation, the gallery will be named after the company for 25 years.

Director of V&A Dundee, Phillip Long, said, "The museum is making fantastic progress. The walls are beginning to rise to full height and now what is really becoming clear is the scale of the building and especially the size of the exhibition galleries.

Michelin is such an important business and employer in the city and its great, like other businesses here, that they are getting involved and helping us realise the project."

Michelin's factory manager, John Reid, said: "It's a great honour to be a part of such a prestigious project for Dundee and Scotland.

I came here right at the start of the project and it was significant enough to see the foundations, but today to see the work that has been done since is really phenomenal."
