Two men have been jailed after millions of pounds worth of cannabis was found in Dundee.

Around 3000 plants were seized from Lorne Street and Ash Street in January.

The cultivation is estimated to be worth around £1.7m.

27-year-old Indrit Saraci will serve just under 4 years for the offences whilst 37-year-old Adiol Hila was jailed for three years and 4 months.

Detective Constable Luke Doogan said: “Drugs can have a devastating impact on people and this demonstrates our determination to getting these harmful substances out of our communities and holding those involved in their supply accountable.

“It also highlights our continued commitment to the Serious Organised Crime Taskforce and the country’s Serious and Organised Crime Strategy.

“Support from members of the public is absolutely vital to our work and we would continue to urge people to look out for the usual signs of cannabis cultivations and report any concerns to us.

“We will continue to use every tool and tactic at our disposal to deter this activity and protect our communities from the harm illegal drugs can cause.”

Anyone with information about drugs activity in their area can contact Police Scotland on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
