Man to appear in court in connection with Arbroath 'hammer attack'

A man's due in court today in connection with an alleged hammer attack in Arbroath.

It happened on Sidney street around 3pm on saturday.

A 42-year-old man was rushed to hospital with a serious injury.

Three others have been charged in connection with the incident.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: ""Police were called around 3pm on Saturday February 1 following a report of a disturbance on Sidney Street, Arbroath.

"A 42-year-old man was taken to Ninewells Hospital with a serious injury.

"A 35-year-old man has been charged in connection and is due to appear at Forfar Sheriff Court on Monday February 3.

"Two men, aged 35 and 39, and a 31-year-old woman have been charged in connection and a report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal."
