Man killed in dog attack at Angus village

Police officers were called to Kirkton of Auchterhouse on Wednesday afternoon following reports of a dog attacking a man.

The 55-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene in the village on the outskirts of Dundee.

The death is not being treated as suspicious.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: "Officers received report of a man having been attacked by a dog in Kirkton of Auchterhouse around 1.10pm on Wednesday, 22 December, 2021.

"Emergency services attended, however, the 55-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.

"The death is not being treated as suspicious and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal."
