A man has been jailed for six years for a series of sex attacks against children and women in Fife.

Darren Gibson, who is also guilty of domestic abuse offences, struck at various locations between 2008 and 2019.

The 32-year-old was sentenced at the High Court in Dundee earlier today.

Gibson previously pled guilty at the High Court in Edinburgh on September 11.

Detective Inspector Calum Lawrie, of Fife’s Public Protection Unit, said:

“Darren Gibson will now face the consequences of his actions.

"I hope that this outcome will offer some level of closure for the victims in this case.

“I commend them for finding the courage to come forward and for their determination throughout this investigation.

“Police Scotland are committed to investigating any form of sexual abuse, regardless of when these crimes were committed.

“In collaboration with partner agencies, we are here to support victims through the process and we will work tirelessly to bring the perpetrators of these crimes to justice."
