A man has died following a crash between a HGV lorry and a van on the A90 near Brechin.

It happened at around 2:45pm on Friday, 14th March, on the southbound carriageway Aberdeen to Dundee road.

Emergency services attend the scene and George Reid, the driver of the van, was taken to hospital, where he died on Thursday, 20th March.

The 76-year-old from Dundee's family have been made aware.

The HGV driver did not require any medical treatment following the crash.

Police are continuing their appeal for information following the incident.

Constable Liam Pattie said: "Our thoughts are with the family and friends of George Reid at this difficult time.

"Our enquiries are ongoing and I would again appeal to anyone who was in the area around the time of the incident to contact us with any information. If you have dash-cam equipment, please check it for any footage which could assist our ongoing investigation."
