A man has died after getting into difficulty in a burn in Perthshire

He was taken to Ninewells hospital in Dundee where he was later pronounced dead.

The 59-year-old was one of two men in trouble in the water between the villages of Grange and Errol in the incident on Friday evening.

Police Scotland, who were alerted to the incident at around 8.15pm, attended the scene and the casualty was taken to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee.

He died a short time later, officers said.

The other man, aged 34, was uninjured.

Further details have not been released and the identity of the man who died has not yet been revealed.

A police spokesman said: 'There are no suspicious circumstances, and as with all sudden deaths, a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.'
