Man's death in Alyth treated as suspicious by police
Officers were called to an address at Hazel Court, Alyth, Perth and Kinross at around 10pm on Saturday and found the body of John Donnachy.
The 26-year-old's death is now being treated as suspicious and police are appealing to the public to help establish the man's prior movements.
Detective Chief Inspector Andrew Patrick, from Police Scotland's Major Investigation Team, said: 'Following the discovery of a man's body within a property in Hazel Court in Alyth, I can now confirm that we are treating his death as suspicious and have launched a major investigation to determine the full circumstances.
'John would have been known to members of the local community and I am appealing for anyone who saw John anytime on Friday or Saturday to contact us as soon as possible with information about where they saw him and any other details they may have.
'John would have been wearing a dark-coloured jacket, dark trousers and green wellies.
'If anyone recalls seeing John in and around Alyth I would ask them to get in touch. Having the knowledge of where he was and approximate timings could be very useful to our investigation.
'There has been a police presence in the area of Hazel Court since last night and this will continue for the time being.'
