Man in court charged with severed hand incident in Dundee
A man appeared in court accused of cutting off a 62-year-old woman's hand at her home in Dundee.
Stephen Brisbane, 32, faces a charge of assaulting Sandra McGowan at her home on the city’s South Road yesterdayay.
Brisbane is alleged to have severed Ms McGowan's hand with a knife in the attack.
He appeared at Dundee Sheriff Court earlier facing a single charge of assaulting her to her severe injury, permanent disfigurement, permanent impairment and to the danger of her life.
Brisbane made no plea during a brief private hearing through solicitor advocate Kris Gilmartin.
Sheriff Alastair Carmichael continued the case for further examination and remanded Brisbane in custody for psychiatric assessment meantime.
He is expected to appear in court again next week.
