Man charged in connection with spate of St Andrews housebreakings

Jewellery and other valuables were taken from four properties within a 24 hour period back in March

A man's been charged in connection with a series of housebreakings in St Andrews.

Four properties were broken into in the space of 24 hours back in March.

Jewellery and other valuables were taken - the 35-year-old will appear at Dundee Sheriff Court today.

The incidents happened on Berry Place, Learmonth Place, Crawford Gardens and Priory Gardens.

Detective Constable Alan Shovlin, from Levenmouth CID, said: "We are delighted that our inquiry has led to an arrest however there is still a considerable amount of valuables, including jewellery and commemorative coins outstanding.

"I would urge anyone who may have information about the location of the outstanding property or who has been offered commemorative coins/ unique jewellery for sale to contact police on 101 quoting incident number 3572 of 4 March."
