A 46-year-old man has been charged with a wildlife offence following the death of a pine marten between Kenmore and Amulree near Aberfeldy in March 2016.

A 46-year-old man has been charged with a wildlife offence following the death of a pine marten between Kenmore and Amulree near Aberfeldy in March 2016.

A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

The protected cat-sized mammals are members of the weasel family and it is illegal kill, injure, keep or sell one or damage their habitat.

Anyone with concerns or information regarding wildlife crime or witness any suspicious activity is being urged to contact Police Scotland on 101.
