Man charged in connection with Arbroath armed robbery

A man's been arrested and charged in connection with an armed robbery in Arbroath.

A member of staff at a shop in Ponderlaw Street was allegedly threatened with an axe on Saturday July 18.

Police Scotland said no-one was injured during the incident at about 6am.

Now, a 29-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with a robbery and is expected to appear at Dundee Sheriff Court on Thursday.

Detective Constable Paul Hardie, of Dundee CID, said: “I would like to thank members of the public who came forward with information in relation to this inquiry and also to those who shared our appeal.”
