Man arrested after fatal Perthshire crash released

Police say a man arrested following a fatal crash in Perthshire on Sunday has been released.

A 19-year-old woman died in the one-vehicle collision on the B9099 Luncarty to Stanley Road shortly before 3 o'clock in the morning.

The 21-year-old male driver and another 19-year-old woman were taken to Ninewells Hospital with serious but not life-threatening injuries.

Officers say investigations are continuing and are asking anyone with information to get in touch.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Enquiries remain ongoing following a fatal crash on the B9099 Luncarty to Stanley Road in Perthshire.

“A 21-year-old man was arrested and has since been released.

“The incident happened around 2.50am on Sunday, 1 September, near the junction leading to Gowrie Farm.

"Emergency services attended and a 19-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

“The male driver, a 21-year-old man and a 19-year old passenger were taken to Ninewells Hospital.

“Anyone with information regarding the incident is asked to call Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 0617 of Sunday, 1 September, 2024.”
