Man appears in court accused of attempted murder in Perth
39-year-old William Rose is alleged to have repeatedly stabbed his victim on the head and body
A 39-year-old man appeared in court today in connection with allegations that he tried to murder a man in Perth by stabbing him on Sunday.
William Rose, Kinfauns Drive, Glasgow, is alleged to have attempted to murder George Collins, 31, by repeatedly stabbing him on the head and body with a knife.
Rose allegedly left Mr Collins severely injured and permanently disfigured during the attack in Viewfield Place, Perth, on 10 February.
A petition alleges he and co-accused Kerri Anne Shaw, 21, resisted 10 police officers who tried to arrest them by refusing to let them enter 31 Viewfield Place.
Rose also faces an allegation of assaulting and injuring Denise Mulvihill by pushing her on the body and causing her to fall within the property.
He is also alleged to have tried to pervert the course of justice by washing a knife to destroy evidence, refusing to give fingerprints and DNA, and refusing to be medically examined.
Shaw, 31 Viewfield Place, is further alleged to have entered the property to remove Rose's watch from the scene of the crime in a bid to pervert the course of justice.
Both appeared in private at Perth Sheriff Court and Rose was remanded for further examination after entering no plea and making no motion for bail.
Shaw, who was allegedly on bail at the time of the offences, made no plea and was freed on bail with a special condition not to approach or contact Mr Collins.
Mr Collins remains in Ninewells Hospital in Dundee after the incident which led to Crieff Road in Perth being closed to traffic for several hours
