A 41-year-old man appeared in court yesterday accused of murdering his partner by strangling her.
David Anderson is alleged to have killed barmaid Louise O'Brien, 36, by seizing hold of her neck and compressing it at their home.
It's claimed to have happened at their home in Dunkeld Road, Perth, at some point between 24 and 28 April.
He was arrested at the weekend and appeared from custody at Perth Sheriff Court where he made no plea or declaration in connection with the murder charge.
Anderson appeared briefly in private to face the murder petition before Sheriff William Wood and solicitor David Sinclair made no motion for bail on his behalf.
He was remanded in custody and the case was continued for further examination. Miss O'Brien was found at the couple's home last Thursday.
She was described by friends as "full of fun" and had worked in licensed premises in the city in recent years.
