Man appears in court accused of murdering man on Dundee street

A man's appeared in court accused of murdering a young grandfather by stabbing him to death in the street.
Gary McMillan, 44, was found dead in Dundee's Lawton Terrace around 2.25am on Tuesday following reports of an incident in the street.
Today 31-year-old Arran Fender appeared at Dundee Sheriff Court charged with his murder.
It is alleged that on May 16 at the junction of Lawton Road and Lawton Terrace, Dundee, Fender repeatedly struck Mr McMillan on the body with a knife and did murder him.
Fender made no plea or declaration during a brief private hearing.
Solicitor Andy Lyall, for Fender, made no application for bail.
The case was continued for further examination and Sheriff Jillian Martin-Brown remanded him in custody meantime.
Fender is due back in court next week.
