Man appears in court accused of £39,000 diamond heist in Dundee

A man has appeared in court accused of a £39,000 diamond heist at an upmarket jewellers.

Stephen Henderson Jewellers in Dundee's city centre was targeted more than a year ago.

It is alleged that Michael Walker, from Liverpool, raided the shop and stole two diamond rings on February 5 last year.

The 32-year-old appeared in private on petition at Dundee Sheriff Court facing a theft charge over the raid.

Mr Walker made no plea or declaration during a brief hearing and the case was continued for further examination.

He was remanded in custody ahead of a further hearing later this week.
