Man admits raping sleeping woman in Dundee
A man raped a sleeping woman – then apologised for what he had done.
Greg Fraser pounced on his victim at a flat in Dundee in October 2017.
A judge heard the woman only realised Fraser had sex with her after she awoke.
The 22 year-old now faces a lengthy jail-term after he pleaded guilty to a rape charge at the High Court in Glasgow today.
He was remanded in custody pending sentencing next month.
Prosecutor Allan Nicol told how Fraser, also of Dundee, had been with the girl at the flat.
He pestered her for sex that night, but she refused.
The court heard the woman ended up falling asleep watching television.
When she later awakened, Fraser was sitting near her.
Mr Nicol: “He was smoking a cigarette. He said he had tried to wake her up.”
The woman was then shocked to discover Fraser must have had sex with her while she was sleeping.
Mr Nicol told the court: “He said he was sorry.”
The victim later told her mum what had gone on.
She was initially reluctant to go to police, but went onto report her attacker last year.
Lady Stacey told Fraser: “You will understand that you have pled guilty to an extremely serious charge.”
Fraser was placed on the sex offenders list meantime.
