Man, 85, in critical condition following crash near Blairingone

Police say enquires are ongoing

An 85-year-old man is in a critical condition following a crash on the A977 near Blairingone.

It happened at around 5pm on Thursday, with the road closed until around 11:50pm.

Emergency services attended the scene of the incident, involving a red Ford Fiesta and a white DAF lorry.

The Fiesta driver remains in a critical condition at the Royal Infirmary in Edinburgh.

The lorry driver was uninjured.

Police appeal for witnesses

Inspector Andrew Thomson said: “Our enquiries are ongoing and we are appealing for anyone witnessed the crash or believes they saw either of the vehicles involved beforehand, to please get in touch.

“I would also urge anyone with dash-cam footage that could help with our investigation to contact us.”
