Man, 63, dies following A9 crash

A 50-year-old woman is due to appear at Dundee Sheriff Court in connection with the incident

A 63-year-old man has died following a three vehicle crash on the A9, around three miles north of the B847, Calvine Road junction.

Officers were called to the crash, involving a white Hyundia Ioniq, a maroon and a blue Harley Davidson, at around 1:30pm on Sunday, 23rd June, 2024.

The 63-year-old driver of one of the motorcycles was pronounced dead at the scene.

The passengers of the car were taken to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee.

A 50-year-old woman was arrested and charged in connection with the incident. She is due to appear at Dundee Sheriff Court on Monday, 24th June.

The road was closed for around seven hours following the accident.

Police enquiries are ongoing to stablish the full circumstances of the crash.

Road Policing Sergeant William Strachan said: “Our enquiries are continuing into the circumstances of this collision in which a man sadly died, and our thoughts are with his family at this time.

“I would ask anyone who may have witnessed the crash, or who may have dash-cam footage, and has not yet spoken to or provided this information to officers, to contact us as soon as possible."
