LISTEN: Flood Cleanup Begins in Alyth

Published 20th Jul 2015

An investigation's been launched in Alyth into the devastating floods of Friday which forced 90 homes and businesses to evacuate after a burn burst its banks.

Some businesses will reopen over the next few days, but some say it could be months before they're back on their feet.

Council bosses have launched an investigation to find out why the flooding was so severe, and a "hub" for people affected has been set up in the town hall. Food and shelter are available there as cleanup gets underway.

Local businesses have been telling Tay News how they are coping with what's happened, and council leader Ian Miller telling us about the steps to recovery for the town.
