A masked man threatened Mohammed Akbar with a knife in the Dundonald Street store, before fleeing after he raised the alarm.

A Dundee shopkeeper has told of his terrifying ordeal after a masked intruder battered his way into his shop in broad daylight and threatened him with a knife.

Mohammed Akbar had closed the shutters of the General Store in the City's Dundonald Street at around 12:00pm on Wednesday 25th April when the would be thief burst in, wearing a balaclava and brandishing the weapon.

He said the incident left him terrified:

Police have returned to the scene today to speak to anyone in the area who might have seen something at the time.
