Leigh Griffiths' SFA disciplinary hearing for allegedly kicking a flare into a stand of supporters has been put back.

The Dundee striker, on loan from Celtic, was to have appeared in front of the governing body on October 14th over the incident which happened at his side's cup defeat by St Johnstone.

However that now won't happen until after the police have finished their own investigation.

Griffiths had previously released a statement on Dundee's website apologising for the incident and insisting he never meant for the pyrotechnic to land in the stand.

He said: “It was regrettable that the pyrotechnic ended up back in the stand as my intention was just to remove it from the pitch.”

“Having just lost a goal I was eager to get the match restarted as quickly as possible and I would like to apologise for any distress caused by this action.”
