New Dundee signing Adam Legzdins says he reached out to former teammate and Dens favourite Greg Stewart before signing on the dotted line.

The goalkeeper's joined on a deal until the end of the season, after being released from English Premier League side Burnley.

He spent three years at Turf Moor but didn't make a first team appearance.

The 33-year-old says he's determined to get some games under his belt for the dark blues.

"It's great for experience to test yourself against great players but ultimately if you're not playing it's very hard," said Legzdins.

"I found it very hard at times and I've certainly missed playing week in week out.

"There' are obviously massive expectations here, rightly so. It's a club that should be in the Premier League, there's no hiding away from that.

"I'll try my very best to help them do that."

The Englishman is available for this weekend's Betfred Cup match against Hibs.
