Large investigation launched into serious assault in Perth

A man has suffered injuries to his head and body during an incident in Perth.

Police have launched a large investigation following the serious assault in the city's South Street around 1.20am this morning (Sunday 3rd June).

They believe three people were involved in the incident and are appealing for witnesses to contact them on 101.

The 35-year-old is now being treated at Ninewells Hospital in Dundee.

South Street has been closed between Scott Street and King Edward Street, while the investigation is carried out.
