A safari park which is home to the last elephant in Scotland has launched a search to find her a mate after the death of her long-term partner.

Mondula, 46, known as Mondy, has been with Blair Drummond Safari Park near Stirling, but has been left distraught after partner Toto died in March last year.

The pair had been together for 20 years, leaving a gap in Mondy's life.

Park bosses have been keeping Mondy busy since her partner's death but have now launched a search across Europe to find her a new companion.

Any mate, however, will be required to be an older African elephant which accepts Mondy's dominant nature.
