New Celtic winger Jota says his connection with the club goes back a long way after revealing he owns a Hoops scarf.
The Portuguese forward joined on loan from Benfica on transfer deadline day and recalls going to a match between the two sides as a youngster.
Jota says he bumped into Celtic fans after the game and swapped scarves outside the stadium.
He said: "I've always paid attention to Celtic because there's a funny story.
"When I was younger I was in Benfica and Celtic went there to play in the Champions League.
"It was in the end of the game when we were returning home. I was very young and I saw a few Celtic fans.
"I was very young, they said 'do they want to switch up?'
"I gave him my scarf and I think he gave me his.
"My mum who is now here in Scotland with me, she said I think I still have it, I will try to bring it."
The 22-year old has been settling into life in Glasgow and could make his debut this weekend at home to Ross County.
Celtic have the option to make the move permanent at the end of the season and Jota is keen to impress.
He said: "I will try to bring some new and exciting things to the game.
"Goals, assists and most of all, help my teammates to achieve titles and win games. I think that's the most important thing.
"In the front three I can play as a left winger, right winger and as a striker as a false-nine".
