Images released in connection with attack outside a Dundee supermarket

An 83-year-old man sustained a serious facial injury outside Tesco on Strathmartine Road last Friday afternoon.

An 83-year-old man has been assaulted outside a supermarket.

The pensioner sustained a serious facial injury in the attack by a man outside a Tesco on Strathmartine Road, Dundee, at about 3.10pm on Friday November 20.

Police have released an image of a man they wish to question in relation to the incident.

He is described as being aged between 45 and 50, about 5ft 10in, of slim build, and he was wearing a black peaked baseball cap, a black fleece jacket, light blue jeans and brown shoes at the time.

Detective Constable Beverley Symon said: "This was a serious incident resulting in a male sustaining a facial injury.

"Assaults of this nature can have a significant impact on the life of the victim, and I would appeal to anyone who recognises the man in the image, or anyone who has any knowledge of this incident, to come forward and contact the police."
