Hunt for man who attacked little girl in Dundee close

Detective officers are appealing for information after a man assaulted a child within a common close in Strathmartine Road, Dundee 6.30pm last Tuesday 18th October.

Detective officers are appealing for information after a man assaulted a child within a common close in Strathmartine Road, Dundee 6.30pm last Tuesday 18th October.

The girl was uninjured as a result of the assault.

The man is described as being about 30 to 40-years-old, about 6 feet tall and of slim build. At the time, he was wearing a black woollen hat, a black ‘baggy’ thigh length jacket, a light coloured hooded sweatshirt, grey ‘baggy’ jogging bottoms and dark coloured trainers.

Detective Constable Alan Shepherd said:

"We are appealing for information to assist us in tracing the man responsible for assaulting this vulnerable young girl. It is understood he was in the company of the victim and another child before the incident took place. They had been walking together in Moncur Crescent, Mains Road and Mid Road between 6.15pm and 6.30pm. The man was last seen in Mid Road running towards Mains Road at about 6.35pm.

"Anyone who recognises the description of this man or anyone who was in this area of Dundee at the time and can assist us with our investigation into the incident, is asked contact Police Scotland on 101.
