Human remains found on Glenrothes industrial estate

Family of missing Glenrothes man Allan Bryant told about discovery.

Police have told the family of missing Glenrothes man Allan Bryant about the discovery of human remains in a local industrial estate.

In a message on Facebook, his dad says it's a distressing time and they don't yet know whether it's his son or not.

The social media post read: 'My family had a visit from Glenrothes CID last night.

'They informed us that human remains where found at a local industrial estate which is not far from our home.

'This is all my family know at the moment until the police and forensics carry out their investigation.

'This is a heartbreaking and distressing time for all my family.

'We do not know if this is our son Allan or not.

'Thank you all so much for your continued support.'

Officers sealed off an area around the town's Whitehill Road last night and say enquiries are an early stage.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "Around 5.20pm on Sunday 27 September 2020, police were called after unidentified human remains were found at an industrial estate on Whitehill Road in Glenrothes.

"Inquiries are at an early stage."
