Human Remains Found In Glenrothes Park

Human remains have been discovered in a Glenrothes park.

Police said it is not possible to tell if the body is male or female and a full forensic examination is being carried out after the discovery in Riverside Park at around 4pm today.

Officers have contacted the families of a number'' of missing men from the area to make them aware of the discovery.

Chief Inspector Stevie Hamilton said: Whilst the investigation is still at an early stage we have made contact with the next of kin of a number of local missing men from the Glenrothes area to make them aware of this discovery.

A detailed forensic examination will be required and this will take some time to complete.''
