NHS Tayside say any hospital visitors should now take a lateral flow test and return negative results before attending.

That's following a change to hospital visiting guidance by the Scottish Government as the number of cases of the Omicron variant continues to rise.

NHS Tayside say visiting will continue to be appointment only to avoid over crowding and allow staff to ensure physical distancing rules are being followed.

Visitors are instructed to contact the wards Senior Charge Nurse/Midwife to arrange a time to visit.

Under some circumstances certain patients may not be able to safely have a visitor and NHS Tayside say they will explain the reasons why and keep the process under review.

Patients are being encouraged to attend outpatient clinics for appointments and planned procedures, but to do so alone. Children and vulnerable adults are exempt from this and may be accompanied by one essential person.
